I post this story for two reasons: First, it’s usually a missing Van Gogh painting that turns up and is worth an unfathomable sum. It’s thrilling to see a photographer’s work in this category. Secondly though, it brings up the issue of the archival nature of photographs. Ansel’s pictures survived because they are silv…er salts on glass; they will last for hundreds of years. What about your digital files? With the forced obsolescence of ever evolving technologies and the fragile nature of digital media, how can we insure that our files will last for future generations?
