This is the inside of a Chatty Cathy doll. A friend of mine stole it out of her favorite Gay bar in Brooklyn around 1990 and then gave it to me. I then worked on photographing the mechanics of Chatty. Dolls spook me –especially if they talk and move. I particularly love the irony of this picture for it’s industrial masculinity.
