Hive Collapse Disorder
We are looking at an unprecedented death of bees.  It is estimated that 1/3 of this nation’s bees are gone.  Add in the fact that 1/3 of our food supply is touched by a bee,and we have a real crisis in the making.  Pesticides,mono-agriculture and cellphones –electronic smog –are all thought to be causes but no one knows for sure yet. Vermont does not experience hive collapse yet.
I am a photographer and,just this summer,a beekeeper.  This is a first series of photos exploring dead bees.
